Space for More


Barbie has released a limited-edition doll in the likeness Samantha Cristoforetti (currently the European Space Agency’s only active female astronaut) in an effort to inspire more girls to become astronauts.

The campaign is part of Mattel’s broader ‘dream gap’ project which aims to inspire girls across the globe, and level the playing field as a result.

What We Like

This was more than simply a limited-edition toy – thanks to research commissioned as part of the campaign revealing that 80% of parents don’t have knowledge of STEM careers (and so how their children might enter them) there was plenty for media to write about
